HDFC is emerging as one of the most popular banks in India. It has a vast network of branches across the country. Millions of people are benefitted from the services provided by the bank. HDFC provides a wide range of banking services to meet the needs of its customers. These services cover everything from different types of savings and current accounts to fixed deposits, loans for buying homes, cars, or for businesses, and credit cards with various rewards. Sometimes, it also offers personal loan. Availing loans form the banks depends on the performance of the customer like maintaining minimum balance, regular fund transfer. There are several ways to transfer funds. In this article, we will discuss each type of fund transfer in detail.

    HDFC IMPS fund transfer

IMPS stands for Immediate Payment Service. It is a real-time interbank electronic funds transfer system in India. It enables customers to instantly transfer funds from their bank account to another bank account using mobile phones, internet banking, or ATM with a limit. HDFC IMPS limit

HDFC Bank has set different IMPS (Immediate Payment Service) limits based on the method of transfer. Here are the revised HDFC IMPS limits:

HDFC IMPS Limit Per Day: HDFC Bank now allows a maximum IMPS limit of Rs 5 lakhs per day.

HDFC IMPS Limit via USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data):

    • The maximum limit set for HDFC IMPS transactions via USSD is Rs. 1,000 per day per Customer ID.

HDFC IMPS Limit via Account Number:

    • Per transaction limit: Rs 5 lakhs.
    • Per day limit: As per TPT (Third Party Transfer) limits.

HDFC IMPS Limit via MMID (Mobile Money Identifier):

    • Online: Rs 5,000 per day per Customer ID for net-banking or mobile banking.

These limits ensure flexibility and convenience for HDFC Bank customers when using the IMPS service for fund transfers.

    HDFC NEFT fund transfer

NEFT fund transfer is also a widely used fund transfer in India. To make an NEFT fund transfer, you can follow the steps given below:

    1. Go to the Internet banking page of HDFC bank or open the mobile banking app.
    2. Go to the “Fund Transfer” section and select “NEFT fund transfer”.
    3. Add beneficiary 30mins prior to the transaction.
    4. Select account from which you want to make the fund transfer.
    5. Select beneficiary and enter the amount you wish to transfer.
    6. Click confirm and you will get an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter that too and confirm your payment.

    HDFC NEFT limit

During RBI working hours (7 AM to 7 PM on working days), the maximum fund transfer limit through NEFT is determined by the customer’s TPT (Third Party Transfer) limit, with an overall cap at Rs 50 lakhs.

However, from 7 PM to 7 AM on working days, and on holidays, which includes 2nd and 4th Saturdays and Sundays, the maximum per-transaction limit is Rs 2 lakhs. This limit can be utilised within the customer’s TPT limit, which may allow multiples of Rs 2 lakhs, up to a maximum of Rs 50 lakhs.

However, when conducting an NEFT transaction at an HDFC branch in person, there are no specific restrictions on the transaction amount. This means that transactions exceeding Rs 50 lakhs can be processed in-branch. So, if the transaction is carried out offline, HDFC NEFT limit is greater than HDFC IMPS limit.

    HDFC RTGS fund transfer

To make an HDFC RTGS fund transfer, follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Internet banking page of HDFC bank or open the mobile banking app.
    2. Go to the “Fund Transfer” section. You will be provided with some more options. Select “RTGS fund transfer”.
    3. Add beneficiary 30 mins prior to the transaction.
    4. After the beneficiary is successfully added select the account from which you want to make the fund transfer.
    5. Select beneficiary and enter the amount you wish to transfer.
    6. Click confirm and you will get an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter that OTP and confirm your payment.

    HDFC RTGS limit

The HDFC RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement) limit varies based on the customer’s account type. Here are the details:

    For Retail (Individual) Customers:

    • Minimum RTGS limit: Rs. 2 lakhs
    • Maximum RTGS limit: Rs. 25 lakhs per day

    For Corporate Customers:

    • Minimum RTGS limit: Rs. 2 lakhs
    • Maximum RTGS limit: Rs. 200 lakhs (Rs. 2 crores) per day

These are the three major types of transactions a customer can carry out. After each transaction, it is good to keep a check on your account balance. There are many options to check your account balance. Following is the list of some of them.

    Through HDFC passbook

To check your balance through HDFC passbook, follow these steps:

    1. Go to the nearest HDFC bank branch along with your HDFC passbook.
    2. Approach the staff and ask them to get your passbook updated.
    3. Once your HDFC passbook is updated, you will see the details of the transaction that was made in your account and also the remaining balance.

    Through HDFC customer care number

HDFC customer care service is available 24/7. To know your balance, dial the HDFC customer care number 18002703333 from your registered mobile number. Follow the instructions given by the IVR. It may ask you to enter your account number. After entering your account number and verification, you will get an SMS containing your account details.

    Through UPI services

This is the easiest and most common way to check account balances. If you are already using a UPI app, open it. Go to the “balance check” section. When you click or tap on it, you will see your account balance. If you have more than one account, you will be given the option to choose the account for which you wish to check the balance. Select it and your account balance will be displayed on the screen.
